The Compensation Fund has been engaging various sectors in different provinces with the intention to enforce Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA) compliance.

On the 11-12 and 14 August 2026, the Fund will be in East London, Eastern Cape Province to engage Organised Labour, stakeholders in the Hospitality Sector, and Local Government and Suppliers; respectively.

These engagements provide an opportunity for the Fund to strengthen stakeholder participation and for stakeholders to better understand COIDA including how it affects their businesses, rights and responsibilities as Employers and the rights of their Employees.

As a sector that represents employees, the Organised Labour engagement will empower Unions about the rights and obligations of employers and employees under COIDA.

During the Hospitality Sector, Local Government and Suppliers workshops presentations from the Fund will cover topics on COIDA compliance in respect of Registration requirements, Claim procedures, Medical Benefits and Vocational Rehabilitation, Re-integration and Return-to-Work, and Bursary programme amongst others.
