The Department of Employment and Labour in the Free State will host a Round Table Discussion with employers and businesses in and around the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality to strengthen collaboration on initiatives that promote employment creation and sustainable economic growth.
The engagement, facilitated through the Department’s entity, the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), will bring together government stakeholders and representatives from the business community to discuss the Labour Activation Programme (LAP) and identify practical opportunities that support business growth, economic recovery, and job creation.
The programme will provide an opportunity for subject matter specialists to address key labour and workplace matters affecting businesses across various sectors, including:
UIF Compliance
Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA)
Inspection and Enforcement Services (IES)
Public Employment Services (PES)
The programme will also include presentations on the Temporary Employer/Employee Relief Scheme (TERS), Productivity SA, and the National Empowerment Fund, highlighting available interventions and opportunities that can assist businesses and workers.
This engagement forms part of the Department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships with the private sector in addressing unemployment and advancing inclusive economic development in the Free State.
