CHINA MEDIA GROUP HOSTS ANNUAL ENGAGEMENT WITH UJ STUDENTS

A vibrant forum hosted by China Media Group at the University of Johannesburg today brought together voices from across sectors to explore innovation, youth empowerment, and media collaboration.

Panelists: The Editor-in-Chief of GSMN, Mr Abbey Makoe (speaking/left), alongside Prof Patrick Bond, the Director of the UJ Centre for Social Change (centre) and Dr. Emmanuel Matambo (right/ dark suit), the Research Director at Centre for Africa-China Studies (CACS), at the University of Johannesburg being interviewed by Beatrice Marshall (far left/ red and white top), the facilitator of the event (Image: CGTN)

The discussions gained added momentum following the adoption of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030) at the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee — a strategic blueprint for high-quality development and deeper global engagement. Participants viewed this as a timely opportunity to strengthen China-Africa cooperation.
