LABOUR DEPARTMENT'S COMPENSATION FUND TO HOST WORKSHOPS IN MPUMALANGA - IMAGE: STUDENT ROOM

The Department of Employment and Labour’s Compensation Fund will engage various sectors from Local Government & Suppliers, Security and Retail, Medical Service Providers and Organised Labour Workshops on the 4th-7th August 2026 in KwaZulu-Natal Province.

These workshops were held during the months of June and July 2026 in Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga provinces respectively, however it will be for the first time that the Fund engages Security and Retail sector.

The main objectives of these workshops are to educate stakeholders in this sector on Compensation for Occupational Injuries Diseases Act and enforcement thereof.

Topics to be covered include Employer Services (Registration requirements and procedures), Compensation Benefits (Understanding the claims and Compensation process for Occupational Injuries and Diseases), Medical Benefits (Medical Services, Medical Claims, Medical Billing and Clinical Coding), Customer Care (Query resolution process) and Reintegration and Return-to-Work and Bursary Programme.

A Help Desk will be available to assist those with any COID related queries and challenges.

Date: Thursday, 06 August 2026

Time: 09h00 – 16h00

Venue: Pavilion Hotel, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal Province.

Organised Labour Workshop

Date: Friday, 07 August 2026

Time: 09h00 – 16h00

Venue: Umhlanga Apart-Hotel, Umhlanga Rocks, KwaZulu-Natal Province.
