THE DEPT OF EMPLOYMENT AND LABOUR CAUTION WORK-SEEKERS ABOUT THE RECENT JOBS SCAM FOLLOWING ADVERTISEMENT OF SECURITY PERSONNEL IN NORTH WEST

WARNING: There’s a job scam making rounds in North West

The Department of Employment and Labour (DEL) in the North West Province wishes to caution work-seekers about the recent job scam that is circulating on social media following the advertisement of 103 security officials to be stationed at different offices within the Province.
Reacting to videos that are currently circulating and directing unsuspecting work-seekers to fraudulent websites, the Chief Director Provincial Operations: Mr Sphetho Siyengo cautioned work-seekers to be vigilant and only use the official channels that the Department used to advertise vacant positions. “There are quite a number of websites and WhatsApp numbers which work-seekers are directed to, to apply. These do not belong to the Department and as such are deemed to be fake and fraudulent. We advise members of the public to be cautious when applying for jobs.” Said Mr Siyengo.
To apply for these positions which are advertised on the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) website, www.dpsa.gov.za or departmental website, www.labour.gov.za with a closing date of 18 September 2026, work-seekers are advised to use the approved Z83 form obtainable from the DPSA website. They must hand deliver their applications at the Provincial Office in Mmabatho or send them through the provided email addresses on the advert which have @labour.gov.za domain name.
The Department further wishes to inform the public that all recruitment is done in line with recruitment policies, in a fair and impartial manner. Work seekers are also reminded not to pay for any jobs that are advertised by the Department.
The public is also encouraged to visit the nearest Department of Employment and Labour offices to enquire if in doubt or report such acts by contacting the Department on the fraud hotline, 0860 666 880 or email – fraud@labour.gov.za.
