SA Cabinet has welcomed the adoption by the African Union Assembly of key protocols and decisions affecting the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). These included the first ever Protocol on Women and Youth in Trade, as well as Protocols on Investment and on Digital Trade. The SA government has expressed its desire to put into effect the African Free-Trade regime.
The objective is in line with the AU’s Agenda 2063 that aims to propel the continent to one of the world’s preferred destinations for business.
Above all, AfCFTA has been earmarked to enhance African states to trade more effectively among one another in the spirit of Pan-Africanism.
