NW ANC CONDEMNS THE IRRESPONSIBLE ACTS OF A MAN WEARING PARTY REGALIA

“The African National Congress (ANC) in the North West Province unequivocally condemns the recent actions of an individual wearing party regalia who engaged in behaviour that is not only irresponsible but also detrimental to the values and principles we uphold. The ANC is founded on revolutionary discipline, honesty and loyalty to the decisions of the majority and higher structures, as enshrined in the party’s constitution.

This offensive and inappropriate act, displayed by an unknown individual, does not reflect the ethos of the African National Congress, which is rooted in respect, integrity, and service to the community.

We issue this statement to set the record straight after a video circulated across social media platforms, showing this individual wearing ANC regalia while flaunting large sums of money in an apparent attempt to create an impression. Such behaviour undermines the hard work and dedication of our members, who strive to promote unity and progress within our society.

The individual in question is seen recklessly displaying cash and boasting in a province that faces severe levels of inequality and poverty. This act contradicts our ongoing efforts to combat all the socio-economic challenges that are faced by our people.

The ANC is appalled by this irresponsible display and wishes to make it clear that such behaviour does not represent the party or its members. A preliminary report suggests that the individual may be from Kagisano Molopo which situated in Dr. Ruth Segomotsi Mompati Region and possibly a member of the ANC. Once a verification process is completed, and if the individual is found to be a member in good standing, disciplinary processes will be initiated.

The ANC is committed to being an effective instrument of the people in achieving the vision of the Freedom Charter. We will not tolerate actions that bring the party into disrepute.

We call on all members and supporters to uphold the values of the party and to act responsibly at all times. The public is urged not to associate the actions of one individual with the collective efforts of the ANC and its unwavering commitment to serving the people of the North West Province.

The ANC remains focused on building a better South Africa for all and will continue working tirelessly to achieve this goal.”
