IOC PRESIDENT AWARDS ACCREDITATION TO CMG’S MILAN 2026 TEAM

International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach awarded the production accreditation to China Media Group’s (CMG) international broadcast signal production team for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics on Friday, before the opening ceremony of the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province.

Bach praised CMG’s contributions to the Olympic broadcasting landscape, emphasizing the high-quality services for global broadcasters and media organizations. He acknowledged CMG’s leading sports broadcasting capabilities and its significant role in promoting the Olympic spirit.

Reflecting on CMG’s collaborations, Bach noted its partnership with the IOC on major events, including the Tokyo 2020, Beijing 2022 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games. He expressed anticipation for CMG’s innovative use of artificial intelligence, immersive 3D audio and 8K ultra-high-definition broadcasting technologies to enhance Olympic coverage and provide audiences with a new viewing experience.

At the awarding event, CMG President Shen Haixiong expressed his honor in accepting the invitation from Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS). He confirmed that CMG would make history in 2026 by producing the international broadcast signal for figure skating and short track speed skating at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, marking the first time CMG has taken on such a responsibility, while also providing technical support for OBS.
