BC STALWARTS TO HONOUR SLAIN DR GOMOLEMO MOKAE IN A SPECIAL MEMORIAL SERVICE

A glittering array of artists and political activists are expected to converge on Freedom Park, in Pretoria, on Friday to honour the legacy of slain Black Consciousness icon, Dr Gomolemo Mokae.

Dr Mokae (61), was assassinated in his home in Zone 1 Garankuwa, north of Pretoria, three weeks ago.

His assailants are still at large.

Artists expected include Tlokwe Sehume and the legendary Sipho Hotstix Mabuse.

Also on the program are BC veterans Prof Itumeleng Mosala and Lybon Mabasa and a string of others. The event is scheduled to start at 12 noon until 17h00.

Dr Mokae was a selfless seat of his people who led an exemplary life. He qualified as a medical doctor at a relatively early age of 24 in 1987.

He was laid to rest amid a revolutionary send off by hordes of Black Consciousness exponents at the Kgabalatsane Cemetery in Garankuwa at the beginning of March.
