His Excellency President Cyril Ramaphosa holds a bilateral meeting with President and Chief Operating Officer of Isuzu Motor Corporation, Mr Shinsuke Minami on the margins of the 9th TICAD Summit held at Yokohama, Japan.
The Isuzu Motors South Africa (IMSA) has a manufacturing base in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape which produces the 7th-generation D-MAX after a R1.2 billion plant upgrade (new body shop, chassis line, paint-shop upgrades).
IMSA is positioned as a supply hub for Sub-Saharan Africa—exporting D-MAX to 34 regional markets and shipping KD kits to Kenya for local assembly.
President Ramaphosa is advancing South Africa’s Presidency of the G20 and bilateral economic engagements with the government and industry leaders of Japan with a view to strengthening trade and investment ties between South Africa and Japan
