Dubbed “the international workers parliament “, the Minister will join her delegation already in Geneva for this conference which commenced on the 1st and is ending on the 12th of June 2026.

Attended by over 5000 delegates from the ILO’s 187 member countries, this year’s conference will deliberate on three critical issues:

  • Standard-setting discussion on decent work in the platform economy (second discussion);
  • General discussion on advancing the transformative agenda for gender equality at work;
  • Recurrent discussion on social dialogue and tripartism.

The Minister will also use this opportunity to share experiences with several of her counterparts from various countries.

The Conference, held by the International Labour Organization, will bring together Government, Employer and Worker representatives from the Organisation’s 187 Member States to engage on key issues affecting the future of work globally.

The Conference will be hosted at the International Labour Organization Headquarters, the Palais des Nations and the Geneva International Conference Centre.

The Conference will also consider the withdrawal of the Labour Standards (Non-Metropolitan Territories) Convention, 1947 (No. 83).

The annual Conference serves as a global platform for advancing labour standards, promoting decent work, and strengthening cooperation among governments, employers and workers on matters affecting the world of work.
