US NEGOTIATORS FLY INTO MOSCOW IN A PUSH FOR A PAUSE IN THE UKRAINE CONFLICT

American negotiators are flying to Russia, and contacts are planned — Kremlin confirms.

Dmitry Peskov stressed that the process of communicating the results of the negotiations between the United States and Ukraine in Jeddah to the Russian side is underway.

US President is going full steam with his push for a negotiated settlement in the three-years old Ukraine conflict Russia triggered in response to the perceived existential threat to the national security posed by NATO’s expansion eastward.

In earlier talks between the US and Ukraine officials in Saudi Arabia, Kiev expressed readiness to enter into a 30-day pause in the fighting. Now, the same script is being brought to the Kremlin to peruse, and make a much-anticipated decision.

If the pause is agreed upon, it will be followed by the swap of the prisoners of war. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin says foreign mercenaries captured in the will not be granted the benefits of the Geneva Convention on the Prisoners of War.
