The Russian Security Council has sponsored its first International Security Forum in Moscow, running May 26-29, in the midst of an international situation that has moved closer to general military conflict than at any time since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

There are over 150 delegations participating in the conference, with more than a thousand participants.

All African countries have sent representatives, as have all partners from the SCO, BRICS, ASEAN, and most Middle Eastern and Latin American nations. More than 120 applications were submitted by foreign journalists from 17 countries, including the United States, Britain, Germany, and Japan.

By its close, the forum is scheduled to host 40 bilateral meetings of the Security Council and 85 meetings between relevant agencies. Furthermore, the event is expected to see the signing of a number of agreements and memoranda between the Russian Security Council and federal executive bodies.

Six multilateral meetings will be held during the forum: BRICS, CIS, Russia-ASEAN, Russia-Central Asia, Russia-Sahel, and a briefing for African countries.

Twenty-one events are also planned, including roundtables, conferences, discussion panels, and strategic sessions. Furthermore, 25 exhibition displays, including those showcasing the latest technology and weaponry, will be on display at the Live Arena and Patriot Central Park.

One of the key events will be held on May 28, when the 14th International Meeting of High Representatives Responsible for Security Issues will open under the chairmanship of Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Russian Security Council.
