The Department of Employment and Labour will hold work-seeker registration activities in Soweto on 20 October 2026 at Uncle Tom’s Hall and 21 October 2026 at Bapedi Hall.
The activities will focus on encouraging unemployed people and those seeking alternative employment to register with the Department’s Public Employment Services (PES). Registered work-seekers will also be encouraged to update their information so that their profiles accurately reflect their qualifications, skills, work experience and contact details.
The initiative aims to bring employment services closer to communities, improve awareness of the Department’s services and support efforts to connect work-seekers with available opportunities for which they meet the requirements.
In addition to work-seeker registration, other departmental services will be available, including assistance with Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) enquiries, compensation for occupational injuries and diseases under COIDA, and Inspection and Enforcement Services (IES).
Community members are encouraged to participate and obtain information on the registration process.
Registration is free of charge and does not guarantee employment or placement in a programme.
