DELIGHTED BY THE FREEDOM TO VOTE: Soweto Businessman Tshepo Ndlovu and his wife Neria were born-and-bred during apartheid South Africa. Today, they take nothing for granted when it comes to the right to vote, and help choose a democratic government of the people, by the people, for the people. Below is their inspiring story. Yesterday, Neria and I had a wonderful day, filled with joy and special moments. However, beyond all the celebrations and enjoyment, there was one thing that stood out as particularly important: we exercised our democratic right to vote.
We made a conscious decision not to delegate this responsibility to anyone else, but to personally show up and make our voices heard.

I want to encourage everyone, especially as people of faith, to remain hopeful and never underestimate the power of our participation in shaping the future of our communities and our country.
Our faith calls us to be responsible citizens. We must not simply pray for change; we must also play our part in making that change possible.
Go out and vote! Do not delegate your responsibility. Your vote is your voice, your responsibility and your contribution to the future we want to see.
Let us remain hopeful, prayerful and responsible.
