Russian presidential Spokesman Dmitri Peskov said in his daily press conference on Tuesday that arrangements for a Putin-Trump-Xi meeting at the upcoming Nov. 18–19 APEC summit could be finalized soon: “Work toward arranging such a meeting is ongoing, and hopefully [arrangements for] it will be finalized in the next few days,” Peskov said. “Of course, our Chinese friends, as hosts, serve as the main organizing force here.”
Peskov also confirmed that a tripartite meeting among representatives of Russia, Ukraine, and the U.S. will occur in Abu Dhabi on Nov. 10–11. The Russian delegation will be headed, as it has in the past, by Vladimir Medinsky, who led the last round in Geneva in February.
On the Nov. 10 meeting, U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff posted, “Discussions will focus on post-war security arrangements, de-escalation, humanitarian efforts, and next steps toward peace.
“Additionally, American negotiators will meet this week in Brussels with representatives from France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the EU, and NATO to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine, Europe’s post-war security architecture, and economic opportunities to support Ukraine’s reconstruction.”
